Tourism Malaysia' Summer Holiday Bonanza

In its bid to target the increased summer holiday traffic from the Indian market, Tourism Malaysia rolled out its season campaign ‘Jao Toh Jaano’ focusing on retreats beyond Kuala Lumpur. Featuring the getaways of Langkawi, Penang, Taman Negara and Cameron Highlands, Tourism Malaysia has unveiled focused destination centric itinerary in conjunction with select travel agents on Pan-India basis. The gamut of holiday packages to these getaways are priced competitively, each offering a myriad of attraction and indulgences for travellers. All packages feature four-star accommodation with breakfast, airport transfers on SIC basis and half day sight-seeing tours.

The package to Penang and Langkawi are priced at INR 18,889 and INR 22,999 respectively, featuring three nights each in either of the two cities with half a day city tour, two nights in Kuala Lumpur, one night in Genting. The Penang package itinerary includes visits to butterfly farms, botanical garden, hill and temple tours and trishaw ride with dinner. The Langkawi Island offers mangrove tour, cable car ride, eagle feeding and island hopping.

For adventure enthusiasts, Taman Negara is the place to be. Competitively priced at INR 26,628, the package offers two nights each in Taman Negara and Kuala Lumpur, one night each at Genting Resort and Sunway Lagoon and entrance to both the theme parks. Tagged as one of the oldest rainforest in the world, Taman Negara package encompasses canopy walk, night jungle walk and trek to Terasek Hill.

To beat the heat, Cameron Highlands is a perfect place. The package is priced at INR 24,499 and includes accommodation in Kuala Lumpur, Genting, Sunway and Cameron Highland, along with half a day sightseeing tour in major attractions in Kuala Lumpur and a visit to the sprawling tea plantation and strawberry farms.

Elaborating on the summer package deals Mr. Manoharan, Director, Tourism Malaysia India said, “For this summer season, we anticipate 180,000 Indian travelers, to visit Malaysia. Our travel packages are in-sync with the marketing initiatives to showcase holistic destination diversity with focus being on both new and conventional. Our thrust will remain on bringing new holiday options in the region enabling the Indian travelers to discover new aspects of Malaysia. These packages are aligned with our overall strategic approach which is centred on destination product showcase thus making this summer the ideal time to explore cosmopolitan glitz and the ecological charms.”
