The
Logo
The ideological position adopted by Tourism India with
regard to tourism finds a hieroglyphic representation in
the logo. It pertains to certain concepts that are at
once contemporary and perennial, dealing with ecology
and culture, which form the immediate context of
tourism.
The vertical strip on the left is divided into four
segments. The topmost segment is the picture of a snow
capped mountain, representing the Himalayas which is not
only the northern boundary of India but also the seat of
an ancient civilization and abode of age old wisdom. The
second segment contains the Indian elephant, its trunk
raised in salutation, which represents the rich
diversity of the flora and fauna of the country. Tourism
India stands for the preservation of this bio-diversity.
The third segment figures a Kathakali artist,
representing the rich and varied art forms and cultural
heritage of India. This magazine takes it as its mission
to provide an exposure of these to the world. The lowest
segment - the coconut palm, the sea and the setting sun
- represents, on the one hand, the southern tip of the
continent, and on the other, suggests greenery, expanse
and peace.
The colour scheme - green scaling up to blue - signifies a culture rooted in
nature ascending towards spiritual heights.
The motto
Tourism India is a magazine committed to the cause of
tourism. Apart from promoting
tourism in India, the magazine serves as an eloquent
tongue to voice the problems that
affect the industry. By initiating discussions and
consolidating opinions on various issues
concerning the tourism sector as whole, Tourism India
helps the decision making bodies in the country to chart
out their course of action. The magazine upholds the
ideals of journalism as the fourth estate, and asserts
its integrity and identity by impartial and just
evaluation of the various issues related to the field.
Not surprisingly Tourism India has cut a safe niche for
itself in the field of tourism and has garnered
universal acclaim in the industry.
Tourism India Format and Design
Ideally designed as a tabloid, Tourism India is sleek,
handy and tempting both in content and form. The
articles are contributed by a team of dedicated
correspondents and a host of noted columnists. The
faculty consists of dedicated journalists, vibrant
reporters, well-focussed photographers and innovative
art directors. The picturesque and elegantly
unconventional layout makes the magazine stand head and
shoulders above its contenders. Every page is packed
with information, entertainment, catchy advertisements
and advertorials. The magazine has a team of
copywriters, visualizers and art designers who can rival
any accomplished ad agency in the country.
